THE STRUCTURE
Our workshop is divided into two sessions to ensure you absorb all the information and we have ample time for your questions.
Session 1: Defining Emotional Regulation
Principles and theories associated with emotional regulation from the Psychological and Occupational Therapy lens.
What we’ll focus on:
Key stages of childhood brain development
Important links between brain development and emotional regulation
The sensory systems - what’s all this talk about cups?
Proactivity vs Reactivity in regulation
Identifying emotions
Session 2: Strategies to Support Emotional Regulation
Practical strategies and how they can be best implemented to support effective emotional regulation.
What we’ll focus on:
Importance of caregiver regulation
Daily routines and their impact
Incorporation of sensory strategies
