Occupational Therapy Assessments support families in identifying underlying challenges that may be contributing to difficulties your child is having throughout the day. They inform treatment plans and can be beneficial in understanding the unique strengths and growth areas for your child.

  • Fine motor skills

  • Gross motor skills

HOW IT WORKS

The initial stage of our assessments include a parent interview with your Occupational Therapist. This interview provides an opportunity for your therapist to build a comprehensive understanding of your child, your family, and day to day routines that all make up a valuable piece of the puzzle. During this stage, your therapist will build an understanding of the goals or concerns that you may have regarding your child's development.

1. PARENT INTERVIEW

2. CHILD ASSESSMENT

Your Occupational Therapist will conduct a face to face session with your child, where they will complete the assessment/s. This will often involve elements of parent questionnaires, in addition to activities for your child that are presented in a fun and engaging way. Your therapist will use a mix of standardised and non-standardised assessment, depending on the strengths, interests, and needs of your child.

3. FOLLOW UP

At the conclusion of the assessment your therapist will discuss your child's strengths and growth areas, and collaborate with you to create a plan that best suits your family. This can include a comprehensive report outlining findings from the assessment, and recommendations for how to best support your child. Additionally, this may include planning ongoing intervention, to support your child in achieving their goals.
